a series of artworks based on the characters in the seven deadly sins from the vocaloid song series "evillious chronicles" by mothy/akunop! ordered in chronological order, first ones completed near the top :D
The Princess of Lucifer
The first of 7 illustrations based on the main characters from mothy's "Seven Deadly Sins" series, a part of the grander Evillious Chronicles multi-media series. I've been wanting to make fanart of this series for a while since I have lots of nostalgia for it, though I always felt like I wouldn't make anything up to quality without being proficient in all the lore. While I did do a little bit of homework for this series, possibly to find potential symbols to include and just for the sake of it, I figured it was no big deal and finally got to work on the dream project. Anyway, here's Riliane Lucifen d'Autriche, played by Kagamine Rin!
Beelzebub Party
The second part of the Evillious Tribute series. Here’s Banica Conchita, depicted by Meiko. I was unsure of what to do for the background, but I knew she had a big ribcage in the background of “Seven Crimes and Punishments”, which suits her. Drawing it was a bit challenging, but I like the detail and balance of light and dark it adds to the whole composition. One of my favorites!
Dance of Asmodeus
The third part of my Evillious Tribute series. Camui Gakupo plays the role of Sateriasis Venomania. Probably my least favorite in the series of illustration. I struggled with really coming up with a background and I’m not crazy about what I came with, plus the colored hands lose a bit of cohesion in the colors. It sticks out a bit, and not in a good way. Still, I like how Sateriasis himself turned out.
Belphegor's Gift
Part four of the Evillious Tribute series. The one and only Hatsune Miku depicts Margarita Blankenheim, AKA the Third Sleep Princess. After how much the previous piece disappointed me, I’m happy that I can be proud of this one. I was unsure of how I’d make the cooler-colored characters work with the brown frame I had in mind to keep consistent across the series, which was one of the struggle points with Sateriasis, but luckily I found my groove here. My only hangup is that, in an effort to keep her more on model with the original character design, I had to draw Miku’s hair more blue-leaning when I normally prefer her green. Sigh…
Leviathan Slope
Megurine Luka, as Kayo Sudou, stars in the fifth entry of the Evillious Tribute series. This might be my favorite of the set! I’m really pleased with how the colors turned out and especially the blood, which was very fun to paint. Plus, Luka always looks pretty no matter the scenario.
Mammon's Court
The penultimate entry of the Evillious Tribute series, featuring Kaito as Gallerian Marlon. The posing is probably very predictable and obvious if you’ve seen the original “Judgement of Corruption” music video, but I couldn’t help myself. His signature pose was too iconic not to use for this series. The background is probably the most bright and saturated of this series, which gives it a pretty different vibe from the rest at a distance. I’m pretty fond of how Kaito’s hair is styled for Gallerian, so it was fun to draw it here.
Satan's Revenge
The seventh and final piece of the Evllious Chronicles/Seven Deadly Sins illustration series. Here we have Gumi in the role of Nemesis Sudou. I REALLY had no idea what to do for the background at all; I was inspired by the fire that’s the primary setting of the “The Muzzle of Nemesis” music video and the circular illustrations of the previous sinners at the end and just went with that. While I tried to do a little bit of homework on the main characters of the original series to understand symbols and maybe help inform design decisions, I was pretty tired by the time I got to nemesis. Regardless, I still like how Nemesis herself turned out, namely the rendering of her hair. I don’t really draw Gumi with this cool of a green (it just never really suited her, to me) but I think it’s real pretty!
