After completing my poster for the Smash 25th anniversary, I wanted to make a companion piece featuring the DLC fighters of Smash Ultimate (for no particular occasion). I always liked how the final chronological fighters of Smash (the Fighter's Pass) were made up of around 12 fighters (depending on who you ask), which aligns with the first Smash's original 12. So, a poster that reflected theirs in composition and color scheme was something I didn't wanna let pass. However, even if I was more or less recycling the composition from the first poster, piling all 14 characters into a piece was even more difficult and taxing when it came to rendering, as these guys are a cut more detailed than the ones from the N64 Smash. I was also not used to working with a very blue color mood, as that made a lot of the colors look murkier than I wanted. I even had a color draft during the sketch phase that had better looking colors… but alas. While I don't think it's as good as the Smash 64 one, it's still an ambitious piece in my eyes.
