past lives

digital drawing of my oc kandy and several of her designs. at the bottom is her nobody design where she sits on a detailed wooden frame that extends around the perimeter of the composition. her leader design is holding her by the shoulders and her face cannot be seen. above them is her great sage design, face also obscured, whose hands and reaching towards them. above that is her idol design with her arms outstretched and laughing. her eyes are not seen. at the very top is her friend/base design, who is covering her face in despair. the background gradates from pale yellow to red to purple from bottom to top. at the bottom of the frame are some forget me not flowers.

A highly personal piece centered around my OC Kandy. I decided to share it anyway mainly because I liked it on a technical level, even if it did not ultimately live up to the vague vision I had in mind.

My OC Kandy has a few different incarnations that I wanted to depict as a lineage of “past lives”. I’ve never really tried drawing something this vertical before, but I am glad I expanded the canvas size to be more unconventional compared to what I normally work with to make it stand out from the rest of my portfolio.
